The basis of my work lies on the symbolic components of the images while trying to reach the casual contact between eye and surface, towards irrational dynamics that evolve continuosly.
I have chosen to purposely use a surreal and dreamlike language where objects and characters live their own condition and at the same time interact and create a story made of symbols the beholder has to interpret.
The elements dialogue, melt and change completely in a constant metamorphosis; each detail represents a clue which helps us to discover what is hidden or invisible at a first sight.
The interaction between positive and negative space, colour and non-colour, curved lines and geometrical spaces chase the duo “to be – not to be”, life’s natural evolution, breath and its expiring.
Therefore, the interaction between human factor and transfigured object, metaphor of feelings and ideas, creates a series of intuitive passages which guide the beholders to further levels of reading and interpretation of the scene.
I am deeply convinced that the unconscious can become our best ally if we do not fear it but rather surrender and try to understand it using images as passages to this interior dimension.
Each of my paintings represents for me a solution to the questions I ask to myself. The circus world, sometimes an unreal and even cruel mirror of life, has deeply inspired my work for its constant pingpoing with death and because of its unique atmosphere where all elements have a specific connotation but at the same time hide the truth behind a mask.
